About us:
Generally, Men's Day is Wednesday mornings at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club, normally starting at 8:00 am and includes normal playing format as well as Tournaments. In 2016 Men's Day starts on April 6th and will include 24 playing dates ending on September 14th. Selected events include a Luncheon.
Included in the 24 dates are special competitions called Challenge of the Provinces wherein the field is divided into teams based on the individual's Birth Province (or the one he emigrated to). Another special Men's Day competition is the Battle of the Blocks for which the field is divided into teams based on the Block that they live in Arbutus Ridge (non residents are assigned to Blocks as "free agents"). The third special Men's Day event is the Captain's Cup which is patterned after the Ryder Cup. This is a 2-week event and teams are formed to be as balanced as possible.
Most regular Men's Day events are "team games" (best 2 of 4, best 3 of 4 etc) and are all scored on a NET basis.
In addition to weekly prize money made up of the $2.50 Entry Fees for winning teams and KP's, there are two season-long competitions: (1) Leading Money Winner (prize is $100 credit to your account) and (2) Alpine Cup which represents the best NET 18 hole score recorded during a regular Men's Day (must play at least 12 MD events) and the prizes are $150 credit for 1st place and $75 credit for 2nd place.
Each Men's Day event will have a Honey Pot competition for natural Deuces on #9. The Entry Fee is $1.00 and entry is voluntary.
